“Your body deserves the best” is the advertising slogan that connects sculpture that artist Zdravko Joksimovic has been working on for several years. The beginning of this cycle is sc Red torso (1997). The body represent only a framework. On the formal side he is interests just in how much the traditional sculptural logic can be inventive, clear, sumptuous and poetic. Joksimovic’s sculptures, are characterized by blend of handicraft stainlessness and conceptual – design, which is almost paradoxical for modern art. They are an unusual mix – in a formal sense, they are technically perfect, including the author’s tendency to test the capabilities of specific materials and their sculptural potential. Semantically, they present mimetic forms through humorous and unexpected combinations, while asking serious questions about the nature of artistic creation and the role of the sculptor in the process.
