Art lovers have the opportunity to visit Belgrade retrospective exhibition of the painter and graphic artist Branko Miljus (1936-2012). ARTE Gallery represents one of the most prolific artists in our community over the past half century. Selected works are characterized by representativeness of all the constituent factors in order to display Miljus’s creativity, so we have received a posthumous hommage to this artist. Exhibited works display the entire course of his art, its qualities, characteristics, specialties. Visitors can enjoy Miljus’s oil-paintings (RTS Gallery – Takovska 10 Street, ARTE Gallery – Takovska 20 Street), graphics (Progress Gallery, Knez Mihailova 27 Street) and drawings (ARTE gallery, Svetogorska 29 Street) from the artist’s extensive oeuvre. Exhibited works originating from private collections, the Museum of Zepter (Belgrade), the Central Hall of the Serbian Armed Forces (Belgrade), the National Museum in Belgrade and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Belgrade).The exhibition runs from 15 May to 13 June 2014.The exhibition is accompanied by a representative monograph, written by Ljiljana Slijepčević, prominenet art historian. This book shows the complete opus of Branko Miljuš, in a professional manner, analyzing the visual language, themes and motifs. A large number of reproductions of artworks provides a clear insight into the creativity, giving an opportunity to art lovers to enjoy the magical and mysterious visions of Branko Mijus.
