Lazar Vozarevic, painter, was born in 1925 in Sremska Mitrovica (Serbia). He enrolled with the School of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 1941. In 1943 he started studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, at which he graduated in 1948. He was a member of art group “Jedanaestorica” (The Eleven), and the “December Group”. He became a docent at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1960. In addition to painting, he worked as an illustrator of books and did mosaics. Lazar Vozarevic died on in 1968 in Belgrade and was buried in the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at the New Cemetery.
