Mileta Prodanović (1959)

Mileta Prodanović was born in Belgrade in 1959. He studied architecture and painting. Prodanović graduated at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1983 and he got his master’s degree at the same university in 1985. He specialized art in London at the Royal College of Arts (1989-90). Since 1990 he worked as an assistant, assistant professor and then professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.

Exhibited (since 1980) in several solo and group exhibitions in Yugoslavia and in several European cities (Rome, Tubingen, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Venice, Vienna, Graz, Prague, Regensburg etc.). In 1986 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale, in the Yugoslav pavilion.

Since 1983, he published prose, essayistic texts in the field of visual arts and journalism. He was a member of the editorial board of “The Belgrade Circle” and “New Moment” (Journals for Visual Media). He is one of the founders of the “Forum of writers” (1999). He has won several awards in the field of literature and art. He participated in the International Program for Writers at the University of Iowa City, US in 2001.
