Olja Ivanjicki (Pančevo, 1931 – Belgrade, 2009) graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts, at the sculpture department, in the class of professor Sreten Stojanović in 1957. Upon completing her postgraduate studies in 1962, she was awarded the Ford Foundation scholarship to continue her studies in America, and in 1978 she participated in the Fulbright Foundation program “Artist in Residence – Rhode Island School of Design”. She was one of the founders of the Mediala group in 1957. She had over eighty individual exhibitions, and she also participated in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad. She is one of the founders of the Niš Art foundation. Her works are found in many museums, galleries and private collections worldwide. She won numerous awards and accolades, including: the Seventh of July award and the Vuk lifetime achievement award.
