Sava Šumanović (1896 – 1942) was one of the most important Serbian painters of the early 20th century. He was born in Vinkovci, educated in Zagreb and in Paris in school of André Lhote. In his paintings he passed through various stages, from cubism to classicism and color. Finally, the last decade of his life he spent in Sid, Serbia where he found his own, distinctive and recognizable style.
