The series of Nichola Zigon’s drawings that is before us, is dynamized by a close-up and then shaped by speed. By strong simplification – FLY becomes a SIGN and imposes, in a sense, as a MESSAGE. It is treated as a signal – warning, which prohibits or approves, channels or criticize, all in a constant dialogue with the environment. Raised to the level of the sign, almost sanctified, it brings us back to flow of mass communication by multiplying, where visual character gets ambiguous meaning. A fly has the role of warning, that human life can be reduced to flying around and buzzing on a dead track. This serie of Nikola Zigon’s drawings, as a way of expression of limitless possibilities, counts on art as a powerful and universal language. Therefore Zigon produces his own peculiar structure from which then arises plastic obviousness. The artist’s devotion to nature is best reflected in the fact that he is not pleased with it’s external phenomena, but brings to light everything he has revealed and what must be understood and exploited. Unknown has always been the asylum of true creativity.
