“Progres” Gallery, Belgrade
The exhibition consists of the most representative works from the same named publication that contains more than 100 authors from ex-Yugoslavia who created in the period after Second World War. Visitors have the unique opportunity to see around 50 works from private collections that have not been available to the public. Among the authors whose works will be displayed are Peter Lubarda, Ivan Tabakovic, Dado Djuric, Vladimir Velickovic, Leonid Shejka, Radomir Reljic, Olga Jevric, Oto Logo, Dusan Dzamonja etc.
The publication “Collector as a curator and selector” displays more than 350 works of art and texts written by experienced art historians. “Collector as curator and selector” is a project which affirms collectibles and emphasizes knowledge of collectors in the selection of works of art. Over the last few years we have had the honor and privilege to be assured of the existence of immeasurable cultural treasures which usually was not available to the public. The idea is to share our experiences and show superb works of art from more than 50 collections that have been available to us. Since the material was very extensive, we focus only on the artists who created from the late 40’s to the late 80’s of the 20th century. We also mentioned the authors who created after 1990 because we believe in their work and we think it will soon be found in many collections.
